Its been busy...

but all in all its been very good. We're now past the half way mark for the run, and its been very good. A couple of full houses (1 or 2) and one reviewer.

Our first night audience was full of friends of the cast and it was good for the first night to be so busy and full of sympathetic members. The second night was a very difficult crowd, they sat through the whole of the first act without cracking a smile. That said they apparently all enjoyed the show, and they did waken up in the second half (right when Silvio made his appearance).

And this show hasn't even finished its run and the planning for the next one has started (The Homecoming/Jane Eyre). Hopefully these shows will involve less work as I'm not stage managing either of them, more greasing the axles.

Well I thought that I was getting better but it seems that I'm actually getting a second hit of the same thing...which sucks.

On the other hand, the couple of days that I've been able to spend bumming around the house has meant that I've had time to play lots of computer games. After the excitement of The Ashes tour a couple of weeks ago, I've passed through cricket fever (with the aid of Brian Lara's cricket) and I'm now back in the world of Massively Multiplayer Online games.

I'm not generally a person who goes back to things once I've gotten bored with them, but since one of my associates pointed out the recent BIG assassination in Eve-Online I thought I'd go back and have another go. I first joined Eve back when it was pretty fresh out the box, and I'm happy to say that its providing me with all of the "Elite" style gaming that I was looking for in the first place. In addition its become a little bit friendlier to actually play.

OK you can still spend hours sitting in warp going between places, and mining is definately not the most fun thing in the world to be doing (but hey I like cheap easy money...yes I'm a closet carebear) but every new player has to start some where (I'm slightly miffed that I couldn't remember my old log in details and re-activate my old account).

Still 4 days in and I'm the pround owner of 1 shuttle, 1 newbie frigate, 2 Frigates and qualified to fly one big ass industrial ship (once I can afford both it, and the equipment to go in it).

And the best part about Eve-online...Off-line skill learning! You don't have to sit in game getting your skills up. Just start learning something and in a couple of minutes/hours/days (and I believe in some cases weeks) you'll have it sitting there ready for use. I've got at least 1 skill sitting there waiting to run over weekend whilst I'm away.

Well I guess that the day off work has paid off a lot, I'm feeling a lot better today, despite being woken up by the sounds of Great Scottish Run starting in George Square. Today's Ripley related stuff was dancing, and in this case we're using bits of Ceroc (as I mentioned yesterday) unfortunately what i hadn't counted on was my friend shang-hai'ing me into learning the moves as well...grr I'll get you yet!

But a huge shout out to Peter and Linda who came in and showed our Fausto, Ricky and Marge how to dance a couple of nice steps....just need to sort out the music now...but thats for later on.

I have been horribly unwell, further compounded by having visitors from down south, and one friend trying to leave the country. Which has all in all led to a rather fatiguing day. Still we go on, unfortunately being somewhat bed ridden when I've not had to be out and about has meant that some of the Ripley stuff I was going to do hasn't been done yet (sounds, buying a ring binder other mundane stuff). Tomorrow we have a dance class for some of the actors, which my friend Peter is going to take. He happens to do Ceroc and is squeezing us in to a very busy schedule. Big thanks also going out to the woman that he has erm...shanghai'ed into helping him (kidding we're pretty harmless).

In other news we seem to be on track for most things, the director has started rehearsals, and I've started the general rat run of getting props, fortunately being ably assisted by my Stage Management team (go girls!!!)
